ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The International Conference on Mathematics and Applications (ICMA-2024) aims to bring together academicians, students, and researchers from the fields of pure and applied mathematics as well as from a wide range of other disciplines where mathematics finds applications. The primary goal of the conference is to provide a forum for research experts, early career faculty and students from all over the world to interact, exchange ideas and experiences, and discuss topics of mutual interests in complex and widely applied areas of mathematical sciences. The conference also offers participants an opportunity to be aware of the latest developments and recent trends in the fields and introduce early career participants to research and other mathematical activities.

Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS) [www.nms.org.np], a non-profit organization was established in 1979 in Nepal with the purpose to create a network of mathematicians throughout Nepal and abroad, for promoting mathematical research and education. NMS also promotes professional ethics, creates opportunities for mathematicians, and advocates for their welfare. It has been conducting talk series, workshop series, and conferences regularly. NMS has affiliations with various national and international networks such as the American Mathematical Society (AMS), International Mathematical Union (IMU), SEAMS, Silkroad Mathematics Center, and The Indian Mathematics Consortium (TIMC). Since 2018, it has been regularly publishing a peer-reviewed and NepJOL indexed journal ─ the Journal of Nepal Mathematical Society (JNMS) biannually.

Central Department of Mathematics (CDM), Tribhuvan University (TU) [www.cdmathtu.edu.np], the oldest department in the history of science education at Tribhuvan University (TU) in Nepal, was established on September 20, 1959. CDM mainly conducts graduate (MSc) and post-graduate (MPhil and PhD) programs and engages itself in academics and research activities.

Kathmandu University (KU) [www.ku.edu.np] established by an Act of Parliament in December 1991, is an autonomous, not-for-profit, non-government institution dedicated to maintaining high standards of academic excellence. At present, KU offers various undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in science, engineering, medicine, management, education, arts, pharmacy, environment, music, human & natural resources, law, information technology, and biotechnology. KU has well-strength mathematics faculties almost all with PhDs, and the faculties are dedicated to various research activities. MPhil and PhD in Mathematics at KU are well-established programs. With the objective of computational knowledge in mathematics, which is now globally getting popularity, the Department of Mathematics under the School of Science has launched an Undergraduate Program B. Sc. in Computational Mathematics since 2017 and Master Degree Program M. Sc.  in Computational Mathematics since 2024.

Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU) [www.nsu.edu.np], aims at producing qualified scholars to safeguard national culture and produce competent manpower in Ayurveda, Jyotisha, Yogic Sciences, and Naturopathy along with Sanskrit Scholars to meet national and international needs. Research Center a separate wing, is to carry out research works, which runs PhD programs along with mini-research in various disciplines of Sanskrit related subjects including mathematical sciences and Vedic mathematics. NSU runs various classes from Shastri level to Acharya level of Sanskrit literature with some modern subjects including mathematics and statistics. There are some subjects like Siddhanta Jyotisham which is full of geometry and mathematics.

South Asian University (SAU) [https://sau.int] is an international university established by the eight member nations of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAU started its operations from the academic year 2010. The university now offers post-graduate and doctoral programs in various disciplines that include Economics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Sociology, International Relations and Law. It will ultimately have 11 post-graduate faculties and a faculty of undergraduate studies. SAU attracts students from all member nations and its degrees are recognised by all the eight SAARC countries. The University has now shifted to its permanent campus on Rajpur Road in Maidan Garhi, South Delhi.

First International Conference on Analysis and Its Applications (ICAA_NEPAL_2021)

Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS) organized the first International Conference on Analysis and Its Applications via virtual mode during April 09-11, 2021. The conference was declared first to be held on May 29-31, 2020 in physical presence, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was reorganized 0n April 2021 in virtual mode. The conference was organized in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, School of Science, Kathmandu University (KU); South Asian University (SAU) New Delhi India; Central Department of Mathematics, Tribhuvan University (TU); Association of Nepalese Mathematicians in America (ANMA), USA; and and the Department of Mathematics Valmeeki Campus, Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU). At the conference, 147 research papers of various disciplines of pure and applied mathematics were presented with the representatives of 25 countries of the world.
